Tyler St Garage Eating House and Bar

This large bar come eatery is one of the new ones down in the Britomart Heritage Precinct.  First impressions were not great – a large industrial type space – it was originally a garage workshop.  But the service was good and the food interesting.  Not a huge menu but offered something quite different from the norm.  The fried chicken was the best.  Not at all greasy – lovely coating with a nice dip – Asian flavours.  The only thing we didn’t like was the pork buns – possibly because we didn’t expect Chinese style pork buns – which aren’t to our taste.

Nice atmosphere even though it wasn’t that busy for lunch on the day we were there.  Good music.  I imagine it heaves with trendy young people on Thursday and Friday nights.
